Gift Wrap Instructions

Tis the holiday season. Time to make a pot of hot cocoa and decorate gingerbread cookies. The perfect time for those Christmas crafts and of course wrapping gifts.

For the GREATEST Christmas gift wrap ideas for kids of all ages, this reindeer made of ornaments is THE one to put under the Christmas tree. This one promises to make as big an impression as the gift. This is the ultimate of all gift toppers!  I designed this reindeer gift wrap idea using small round Christmas balls in assorted metallic colors.

I started with a bright green glitter paper, but any solid color would work. Even a white gift wrap would look great. Just add bright color ornaments instead of metallic ones. Then I arranged the balls on top of the box, before gluing them on – to see how they would fit. This helped me determine the size of the antlers which I cut out of brown card stock. I just did it freehand. For reference, I used one-inch Christmas balls and a standard shirt box, which is about 9” x 14”, and the reindeer head covered about one-third of the box, the antlers the remaining two-thirds.

Once I determined how everything would fit, I began gluing the balls to the package – centering one ball at the bottom. Then two balls above the single ball and so on as shown. The antlers were just glued under the last row of Christmas balls.

If this is for a kid, start with a red ball for the nose to look like Rudolph!  Or craft the entire reindeer face out of pom poms. Have a toddler who is eager to help with the Christmas gift wrapping? Cut a bunch of small circles out of assorted scrapbook papers and let them make their own reindeer face. Then glue the whole thing to the front of a plain brown paper bag and you have reindeer gift bags! Such an easy way to include the kids during this busy time of year.
