Today I am going to share with you creative ways to wrap your Christmas presents with one of my favorite gift wrapping ideas. This is a great way to give your gifts that personal touch beyond the basic wrapping paper and the good news is all you need are basic craft supplies. So let’s get started!

Gift Wrap Instructions

Here’s a trio of unique wrapping ideas that are pure fun on Christmas morning! A Christmas tree made of paper straws, a reindeer whose nose is a bright red pom and Christmas ornaments fashioned from honeycombs. These fun accents are an easy way to turn a simple gift wrapped in white paper into the best gift under the tree.

Reindeer Gift Wrap Idea

I started by wrapping three empty boxes of different sizes in glossy white paper. For the smallest package I used a tool that makes pom poms, but you can make them by hand if you don’t have this handy tool. I used some bright red yarn and made a single red pom pom.  Then I used hot glue to secure it to the center bottom of the box. After it was dry, I used a black marker to draw eyes and antlers to resemble a reindeer as shown. Rudolph the Red nosed Reindeer.

Using paper straws is an easy way to make a unique christmas gift. For the paper straw christmas tree, it is important to figure out how many straws you will need before you begin. My box measured 7” long by 5.5” wide and I used 15 straws to make my Christmas tree. Place the straws across the box to get an idea of how many you will need. Plan to leave about an inch at the top and bottom of the package. I measured out a ½” piece to start and added a ¼” to each successive piece.

Once I had the number of paper straw pieces I needed, I started gluing – starting at the center top. One by one I added each successive longer piece – centered below the previous one. For the trunk of the tree, I cut two pieces, each 1” long and glued them to the bottom as shown. Finally, I glued some red buttons to resemble ornaments and some red baker’s twine to resemble garland. Oh Christmas Tree!

Christmas Ornaments Gift Wrap Idea

For the final Christmas wrapping idea I wanted to make Christmas ball gift toppers. I used three paper honeycombs, cut open so that they would lay flat. I laid them out on the gift box, one in the center and towards the bottom of the box and the other two centered and a bit higher as shown.

Once in place I hot glued them flat to the package. The little silver tops you see were removed from the top of mini glass ball ornaments and hot glued to the top of the paper honeycomb ornaments.

Finally, I took a length of gray bakers’ twine and glued it with regular Elmer’s glue, starting at the top of the ornament, and all the way over the side of the box where I glued it to the bottom of the package. Darling for a holiday gift and sure to impress the gift recipient!

I hope these simple ideas inspire you to create your own wrapping paper design to make this Christmas extra special.
