Gift wrap instructions:

I guess you could say I am a paper enthusiast. I love paper decorations and not just for parties. Special Occasions are my jam. So if you are looking for creative gift wrapping ideas this trio will fit the bill.  I used paper honeycomb decorations in different sizes and a variety of colors. For a birthday gift, a holiday gift or just a celebration these cute gift toppers are the perfect embellishment.

This fun trio of gift wrapping ideas uses honeycomb balls that you can pick up at your local craft supplies store.  For this group of gifts, I started with plain white wrapping paper and a string of mini tissue paper honeycomb balls. After wrapping each box in the white wrapping paper, I cut the string of tissue honeycomb balls apart so that I could use them individually.

For the ice cream cone, I cut a triangle out of yellow card stock and then used a ruler and a brown marker to trace the lines to look like an ice cream cone. Then I glued the triangle cone to the lower part of the package, centering it as shown.

In order for the tissue honeycomb balls to lay flat on the package, I had to carefully cut them open, as shown in the second image. Then it was just a matter of centering two of them over the top of the triangle cone and the third over the bottom two. Just hot glued in place. After that dried, I carefully sprayed the top of the package with some spray adhesive and dropped some sprinkles around the top. This would be just delicious for a summer birthday don’t you think?

For the Christmas balls, I used three of the paper honeycombs, cut open so that they would lay flat. I laid them out on the box, one in the center and towards the bottom of the box and the other two centered and a bit higher as shown.

Once in place I hot glued them flat to the package. The little silver tops you see were removed from the top of mini glass ball ornaments and hot glued to the top of the paper honeycomb ornaments.

Finally, I took a length of gray bakers’ twine and glued it with regular craft glue, starting at the top of the ornament, and all the way over the side of the box where I glued it to the bottom of the package. Darling for the holidays.

For the last of the three I did use a Cricut to cut out the letters. The honeycomb balls I used are 2 inches in diameter so I cut out letters that were the same size using various colors of card stock. Then I laid a ruler on the box, just to help me line up the letters. Once I had them spaced out correctly, the final step was gluing them in place.

The “mock” confetti are just circles cut out of that same card stock using a hole punch. I used a glue stick and ran a line of glue down the lower section of the box and scattered the dots over the sticky glue section and let it dry.

Easy as that! HOORAY! And think of the possibilities. Have an October birthday. How about HOCUS POCUS! Or for Christmas. NOEL, JOY, or HOLLY. Just change up the colors.

The great thing about these gift wrapping ideas is how versatile they are. Baby showers are the perfect occasion for these darling paper honeycomb decorations. How about a honeycomb ball rattle or pacifier as a gift topper?  Or white honeycomb tissue paper flowers atop a bridal shower gift. At your next party, use honeycomb balls as napkin rings at your place settings. So many possibilities. So little time!
