Washi Tape Flag Gift Topper

Paper Straw with Washi Tape Flag

The easiest way to adorn a package with a paper straw is to simply add a washi tape flag to the end. I just found a cute washi tape and wrapped it around the end of the straw and cut the ends to look like a flag. Then I tucked in under the pretty ribbon-adorned package. These DIY gift toppers don’t get any easier and are so cute!

Paper Straws with Paper Shapes

Other easy gift topper ideas – glue different shapes to the end of paper straws. If you have a Cricut cutting machine or something similar this idea comes together in minutes and adds the perfect personal touch.

Star Cut Out Gift Toppers

For a patriotic spin, I used a star craft punch to cut stars out of a silver glittery card stock. Then I used hot glue to attach them to the ends of some red and white striped paper straws. Add them to your package or slip them in a drink for the Fourth of July. These same candy cane red and white striped paper straws would be a cute way to dress up a package for your Christmas gifts. Just cut out a Christmas tree, maybe add some glitter and hot glue the shape to the end of the straw for a fun festive touch.

Heart Cut Outs Gift Toppers

To add some flair to a Valentines gift, tuck in a pink paper straw embellished with pink paper hearts. My hearts were cut from folded pieces of pink card stock in various shades and hot glued to pink dot paper straws. So lovely tucked into a pink satin ribbon wrapped package.

Shell Cut Outs Gift Toppers

For the last cut out I did use a Cricut cutting machine to cut the shell shapes and then added them to an ocean-green striped straw. This is a fun beachy look and would look great on a plain blue or green gift-wrapped package.

All creative ways to wrap up those holiday gifts when you don’t have a lot of extra time. And almost as easy as using a gift bag and tissue paper.

Paper Straws with Cupcake Liners

Cupcake Liners Gift Toppers
Paper Straw with Cupcake Liners

Flowers are always a fun way to spruce up a package and these are made with straws and cupcake liners. To make the flowers, I folded cupcake liners in half, then in half two more times. Then I cut the ends in a petal shape as shown.

I cut two – one cut to be smaller than the other so I could layer them. Before I opened them, I cut a snip off of the pointed end of the folded liner. This creates a hole through which to insert the straw later.

Then I opened the liners and glued the smaller one to the center of the larger one. Lastly, I inserted the straw through the center and glued it in place. I also added a tissue paper leaf that I cut free hand but it would be perfectly cute without. Another adorable way to add that special something to your gift-wrapped package.

For any Special Occasion this is one of my favorite gift wrapping ideas. Pretty packages made easy!
